Tea & Wine Tour

SEAN BURNS | WED JUNE 7 – ALL DAY

This full day adventure is a once in a lifetime way to experience the island’s bounty. If you want to be blown away by world-class gardens, capture a birds eye view of the island, experience high-tea, catch a ride on a ferry, sample at our finest wineries, and have a special culinary experience with fellow entrepreneurs, this tour is for you!

You will enjoy:

  • Harbour Air – flight leaving the inner Harbour in downtown Victoria and flying into Butchart Gardens.
  • Self guided tour of the gardens
  • High Tea lunch in the Dining Room
  • Transportation to 4 wineries – Church & State, Unsworth, Averill Creek, Blue Grouse including a short ferry ride
  • Dinner with the rest of the group will take place at the beautiful Blue Grouse Winery
  • Travel back to the Empress Hotel

The price is set at the anticipated cost, although if the price changes, or we are not able to fill the plane, we may have to adjust accordingly. Some restrictions apply around weight and legal drinking age.

A Taste of the Circuit

TOM WILSON | WED 7 JUNE – ALL DAY

We will drive over Malahat Mountain taking in views of the inlets and mountains at the Malahat SkyWalk on our way to the Island Motorsport Circuit where instructors will teach us to let lose in heigh-end cars.

Get ready for:

  • Transportation up the Malahat to reach the SkyWalk
  • Catered brunch
  • Instruction at Island Motorsport Circuit
  • Afternoon driving at the Circuit
  • Dinner with the rest of the group will take place at the beautiful Blue Grouse Winery
  • Travel back to the Empress Hotel

WildPlay

TOM BENSON | WED 7 JUNE – ALL DAY

Crazy active adventure day! We will drive up the island through wild Goldstream Park, to Malahat SkyWalk to have brunch overlooking the mountains and inlets before carrying on to Vancouver Island’s most exhilarating adventure park, and have a special culinary experience with fellow entrepreneurs.

Includes:

  • Transportation up the Malahat to reach the SkyWalk
  • Catered brunch
  • Afternoon tackling the adventure elements at WildPLay Nanaimo
  • Dinner with the rest of the group at the beautiful Blue Grouse Winery – Travel back to the Empress Hotel

Westcoast Backroads

TOM WILSON | THURS 8 JUNE – 9AM

Begin the day with a 3 hour motorcycle tour know as the “Renfrew Loop” to Shawnigan Lake.

There you’ll be hosted at the cottage of Tom and Kari Wilson.

The afternoon will be spent wakeboarding, relaxing, and sapling local food & drink. We will be picked up there and delivered to the evening dinner in the area and then transported back to the Empress Hotel.

Tofino Surf Day

JORDAN FISHER | THURSDAY ALL DAY

A day of surfing lessons on Tofino’s famous Chesterman beach. Its only a stones’ throw from the Empress Hotel to the docks of Harbour Air, where a turbo prop float plane will fly you over the Island’s wild forests to your destination in Tofino.

You’ll be shuttled to Surf Sisters Surf School where you’ll be fitted for gear and leave for a day of lessons on the beach. You’ll be fed great food and brought back to Victoria in time for the evening program. Not to be missed.

Tour de Victoria

NATHAN ISBISTER, SCOTT PHILLIPS | THURSDAY PM

This event will take a low/medium intensity bike tour of Victoria’s beauty spots. From our rented bike seats we’ll cover a 20k loop taking in waterfront sights, historic hotspots, and a couple of fun cafes. Expect illuminating commentary from your guide and prominent Victoria entrepreneur Scott Phillips. Bikes will be provided. Meet at 1pm at the Empress. You’ll be back in time for conference registration. Cost will be collected by the event champion on the day of the event – about $50.

Gorge Hot Tub Chill

Your flight is in early and you have time to kill before the welcome reception. How about a floating motorized hot tub in the harbour. YES!

Sunrise Ocean Sauna

It’s scientifically established (see footnotes) that an early morning ocean dip balances the chakra and aligns one for a productive day of in-conference learning.

Join us for a sauna and swim on the beach, only a short walk from the hotel.

You’ll be back in time for a hearty breakfast and the regular program.

China Town Coffee Tour

Get a tour of the harbour and historic China Town from a local while you go to fuel up in the early morning sunshine.

SeaFlora Spa Experience

Not everyone loves a conference. This full day experience starts with a tour of the SeaFlora seaweed “farm” in Sooke. Owner/entrepreneurs Diane Bernard will guide you on a harvesting tour of the rich sea beds around Sooke Harbour.

You’ll get to make take-home seaweed cream and see how the company makes its award winning products. We will have lunch at the newly renovated Sooke Harbour House before going to SeaFlora for a two hour luscious spa treatment. How’s that for amazing?

Power Whale Watching
